It was another good day for 16-year old Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy student, Filip Krajinovic. He defeated fellow NBTA student Yuki Bhambri in straight sets to advance to the third round of the 2008 Junior US Open. He will now face #6 Guillaume Rufin of France.

I wouldn’t say the Krajinovic/Bhambri match was the best played tennis I have ever seen. There were lots of unforced errors and neither player served particularly well, especially in the first set. Bhambri only got 49% of his first serves in and had eight doubles faults, while Krajinovic got 55% of his first serves in. The second set was much cleaner from both players and Krajinovic got a break to make it 5-3 and then served it out at 5-4.

Krajinovic and another NBTA student, Devin Britton, will both take the court tomorrow for their third round matches.

New pictures from the match are up!
